EXPOSURE DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device using organic electroluminescence elements which can obtain an emission quantity of light necessary for exposure without shortening an element life.

SOLUTION: The exposure device includes the organic electroluminescence elements 6d-9d as a light source. The organic electroluminescence element 6d-9d has on a substrate 31, an anode 32 for injecting at least holes, a light emitting layer 34 with a light emission region, and a cathode 33 for injecting electrons. An end face in a vertical scanning direction of the substrate 31 as a waveguide is made a light takeout face 35. Light entering the substrate 31 after radiated from the light emitting layer 34, and emitted from the light takeout face 35 is used as an exposure light.
