PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely mount an electro-optical device in a mount case at the position with respect to a projection type display device. SOLUTION: In the electro-optical device in the mount case, having the mount case (601) consisting of the electro-optical device (500) on whose image display area a projection light is incident, a plate (610) which is disposed so as to be opposite one surface thereof, and a cover (620) covering the electro-optical device and having a part abutting on the plate, the plate includes an attachment part (611e and so forth) for attaching the electro-optical device in the mount case with respect to the attached part of the projection type display device, in which the plate which is attached by the attached part and the attachment part is separated from the attached part at a prescribed distance.
