THROW-AWAY TIP AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away tip for remarkably improving chipping resistance of a cutting edge. SOLUTION: This throw-away tip 1 is manufactured in such a way that the cutting edge 5 is formed in a crossing edge part of a main surface forming a rake surface 3 of a base material 2 presenting a substantially plate shape and a side surface forming a flank 4; a surface of the base material 2 is covered with a coating layer 6; a honing part 8 is arranged over the flank 4 from the rake surface 3 of the cutting edge 5; and sticking strength of the coating layer 6 in a width area A up to 1 mm in the height H from the rake surface 3 by starting from the honing tail end of the flank 4 is set higher than sticking strength of the coating layer in a central part B of the side surface forming the flank 4.
