ELECTRICAL MACHINE WITH WINDINGS CONSISTING OF LITZ WIRES

The efficiency of electrical machines should be improved by higher slot space factors. To this end, the slots (1) are filled with litz wires (6) whose cross-sections can be deformed. In doing this, they adapt to any shaped slots thereby making it possible to achieve high slot space factors. The litz wires can optionally be compressed into the slots by appropriate tools. The slot space factor can also be increased by virtue of the fact that the filaments in each litz wire have a number of different cross-sections and geometries.
