PURPOSE: A moving picture coding method is provided to reduce image quality badness and the complexity of coding calculation according to the motion of a camera by improving coding efficiency in an edge region of a displayed picture. CONSTITUTION: Motion compensation is performed by a macro block unit of a currently encoded image frame, and coding is progressed. When the motion compensation is performed, motion compensation is performed on the basis of a previously encoded image frame. Motion vector values are set up to an expended external region except for a displayed picture on the basis of the previously encoded image frame. Coding and motion compensation are performed centering around the expended picture. |
