<p>A bearing assembly 1 for a screw conveyor comprises a housing, a bearing cartridge 9, a bearing 11 and a seal 27. The bearing cartridge 9 is mounted to the housing 7, the bearing 11 is mounted to the cartridge 9, the bearing 11 is connected to the shaft, the seal 27 is a self-aligning seal and the bearing 11 is a self-aligning bearing. The bearing 11 is preferably either a toroidal roller bearing, a spherical roller bearing or a ball bearing and the housing 7 is preferably split. A lubrication reservoir may be provided. The lubrication reservoir is preferably in fluid communication with the bearing cartridge 9 and in use the pressure of the lubricant inside the bearing assembly 1 is greater than the external pressure.</p> |
