SIMILAR IMAGE EXTRACTION SYSTEM, SIMILAR IMAGE EXTRACTION METHOD, AND SIMILAR IMAGE EXTRACTION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a similar image extraction system, a similar image extraction method and a similar image extraction program capable of speedily performing a process and excellent in accuracy of image search.

SOLUTION: A source image data and search target image data are obtained. Matching pixels are set at a plurality of positions of the source image as well as tonal value of the matching pixels is obtained. An area as large as the source image is set on the search target image. A tonal value of comparison pixel corresponding to the same position of the matching pixels in the area is obtained while changing the area sequentially and a process for calculating matching value representing similarity with the tonal value of the matching pixel and the tonal value of the comparison pixel is performed and an area which has high similarity is extracted by calculating similarity with a tonal value of approximately all the pixels in the area and a tonal value of approximately all the pixel of the source image in the area for which the matching value shows high similarity.
