PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the operation of designating a combination pattern prior to report output even if the combination pattern of reports is differed between inspection work and settlement work. SOLUTION: This electronic cash register comprises a report combination table for storing, for every kind of tabulation reports, output designation data for designating whether a report concerned is outputted in inspection work, in settlement work, or in inspection/settlement work. On the basis of the data stored in the report combination table, a report of the kind designated to be outputted in inspection work and a report of the kind designated to be outputted in inspection/settlement work are outputted at the time of inspection work. At the time of settlement work, a report of the kind designated to be outputted in payment work and a report of the kind designated to be outputted in inspection/settlement work are outputted.
