PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller and a control method for vehicle power slide doors which suppress the consumption of a current upon closing the power slide doors arranged on both sides of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The controller controls the opening/closing of the power slide doors arranged on the right and left, that is, the next-to-driver's-seat side and driver's seat side of the vehicle. A slide door position sensor 109L detects the position of the next-to-driver's-seat side slide door 200L relative to that of the driver's seat side slide door (not shown in Fig.). In a process of controlling the closing of the driver's seat side slide door, its travel speed is suppressed when the position of next-to-driver's-seat side slide door 200L which is detected by the position sensor 109L is ahead of that of the driver's seat slide door.
