<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the picture quality of a zoom image obtained by continuously varying the magnification rate (image size) of an image. <P>SOLUTION: An image signal processing part 110 generates a new 525i signal as an output image signal Vout according to an input image signal Vin. In zoom mode, the output image signal Vout is for displaying a zoom image continuously varying in magnification rate around an arbitrary point that a user specifies. Respective pixel data of the output image signal Vout are computed from an estimation expression by using coefficient data Wi generated on the basis of pieces (h) and (v) of its phase information. The coefficient data Wi are generated further on the basis of the magnification rate T of the image, its varying speed K, and resolution adjustment information (f) and noise suppression degree adjustment information K by feature information of the image. Consequently, a zoom image can be obtained which has its blur suppressed when the magnification rate is made large and also has its noise deterred from being conspicuous when the magnification rate is made large and is visually smooth. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
