PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stable saponification treatment of a polymer film without problems of a reduction of workability and waste disposal even if large amounts of the polymer film are treated, while the saponification is carried out continuously. SOLUTION: In production of an alkali saponified polymer film by continuously saponifying a surface of the polymer film using an alkali solution, the method for replenishment of a replenishing liquid in an alkali solution comprises a step of measuring saponification ability of the alkali solution, a step of deciding a manner of the replenishment of the replenishing liquid based on the measured saponification ability so that the saponification ability of the alkali solution after the replenishment reaches within a prescribed value range and a step of replenishment of the replenishing liquid in the alkali solution along the decided manner.
