PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barium and/or calcium thin film-coated magnesium alloy sheet which has excellent corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: (1) In the magnesium alloy sheet coated with a barium and/or calcium thin film, a barium and/or calcium metal is infiltrated into the surface layer of the magnesium alloy sheet, and a layer in which both metals are coexistent is present. (2) The barium and/or calcium metal is infiltrated into the surface layer of the magnesium alloy sheet, and the thickness of the layer in which both metals are coexistent is≥0.7μm. (3) The magnesium alloy sheet is the one subjected to rolling. (4) The rolling elongation of the magnesium alloy sheet is 5 to 500 times. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
