<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent leak of a photosensitive body by avoiding a collision of a distal end of conveying paper against the surface of the photosensitive body and to smoothly attract the distal end of the paper to the surface of the photosensitive body. <P>SOLUTION: A device for conveying paper is provided with the photosensitive body 3b carrying toner, a transfer roller 31d rotating in contact with the photosensitive body 31b to electrostatically move a toner image formed on the photosensitive body 31b to the paper 5, and a paper conveying means arranged on a conveying upstream side of the transfer roller 31d and constituted of a driving roller 36d1 and a driven roller 36d2 for conveying the distal end part 5a of the paper 5 by holding and rotating the end part 5a. The driving roller 36d1 and a driven roller 62d2 are arranged on the photosensitive body 31b side in a contact tangential line direction L of the photosensitive body 31b and the transfer roller 31d.
