PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera device which is greatly improved in picture quality and performance since the influence of flickers can be eliminated without varying the AGC. SOLUTION: The camera device, which is equipped with a lens 1, a mechanical shutter 2, and a driver 3 for driving the mechanical shutter and has both an electronic shutter and a mechanical shutter together, is equipped with an AE device 7 which measures the light emission cycles and the phase of a light source, a circuit which generates sweep pulse in arbitrary timing, a circuit 3 which closes the mechanical shutter at an arbitrary position, and a circuit 72 which estimates the timing where the quality of light becomes largest in a frame to be photographed from the light emission cycles of the light source, and has a function of synchronizing the electronic shutter and mechanical shutter with each other for exposure at the estimated timing.
