PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor capable of improving the accuracy in detecting the torque by supplying the reference voltage accurately indicating a middle point of an excitation signal and the detection waveform regardless of the variation of voltage, producing an excitation signal having the amplitude free from the difference between upper and lower parts with respect to the reference voltage as the middle point, and accurately detecting the magnitude of the amplitude and the phase of the detected waveform. SOLUTION: In this torque sensor 10 for detecting the torque applied to a torque transmitting axle on the basis of the output of detecting coils 20, 22 when an excitation coil 16 is excited, the voltage corresponding to a duty ratio 50% of an excitation power source (onboard battery 62) supplying the excitation signal (AC signal) to the excitation coil is the reference voltage Vref indicating the middle point of the excitation signal (reference voltage generating part 72).
