<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain toner consumption in an image forming apparatus for overprinting a prescribed special image formed by color components which are hardly recognized by human eyes on an original image, in the case of color-printing the original image by using several kinds of color toner. <P>SOLUTION: An offset value for yellow toner is set higher with giving consideration to such an effect that the yellow toner corresponding to the color components of the special image SI is consumed more than other kinds of color toner in the case of overprinting the special image SI on the original image. Then, the yellow toner consumption is accurately obtained.
