PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion control method of a catalyst combustion device capable of stably continuing the catalyst combustion by supplying the sufficiently vaporized liquid fuel to a catalyst layer with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A porous radiation plate faced to the catalyst layer is mounted in a vaporizing chamber 12 of the catalyst combustion device. The radiation plate 30 is heated by the radiation heat 74 from the catalyst layer 20. The liquid fuel having passed through the vaporizing chamber 12, passes through the radiation plate 30 in an atomized state or during its vaporization. The radiation plate 30 is used as a heat source in the vaporizing chamber and accelerates the vaporization. The fuel in the atomized state or during its vaporization having passed through the radiation plate 30 is brought into contact with the radiation plate 30, whereby the heat is conducted, the fuel is heated, and the vaporization is accelerated. By mounting the radiation plate 30, the vaporization of the liquid fuel 70 in the vaporizing chamber can be accelerated, and the catalyst combustion can be stably kept. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
