PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a paperboard from a raw material pulp slurry containing calcium carbonate in neutral papermaking. SOLUTION: The method for producing the paperboard comprises carrying out papermaking of the pulp slurry containing the calcium carbonate in the coexistence of a specific rosin emulsion sizing agent, aluminum sulfate and a chelating agent under neutral conditions of pH6-8 and drying the resultant paperboard.
