PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment composition for acidic hair dyes improving color intensity and to achieve durable hair color by improving penetrative properties of the dyes, especially for damaged hair by a chemical treatment or the like. SOLUTION: The aqueous pre-treatment composition for acidic hair dyes comprises 0.01-5 wt.% of a hair conditioning agent selected from oily substances, cationic surfactants and cationic polymers, 0.2-30 wt.% of organic acids or inorganic acids or their salts and having pH of 1.5-5.
