PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission device capable of positioning and fixing a light guide path to a fixing member without any deviation due to vibration or the like, thereby preventing the loss of coupling with an optical transmission member such as an optical fiber optically coupled with the light guide path and further faciliting the replacement of the light guide path and having a superior positioning precision, and to provide a method for manufacturing the light guide path. SOLUTION: The optical transmission device is provided with a light guide path 11 which branches or couples and emits an incident light signal; and a fixing member 12 which supports and holds the light guide path 11 at least on its bottom surface and flank. The light guide path 11 has a projection part 11b, and the fixing member 12 has a hole 12d in which the projection part 11b is fitted. Consequently, the light guide path 11 can easily be positioned to the fixed member 12 by fitting the projection part 11b in the hole 12d. Further, the light guide path 11 is supported on the bottom surface and flank of the fixing member 12, and the propagation direction of light never deviates in the front-rear direction owing to vibration or the like unlike before.
