PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor with a brush, capable of improving an efficiency by applying a current to a coil inside an appropriate region. SOLUTION: When a plurality of coils are connected together in a delta connection method,θb andθm are so set as to satisfy the relation 0.75≤(θp-θb)/θm≤0.95, whereθb is the angle by which a brush makes contact with a commutator segment in the rotating direction,θm is the angel of each pole in the rotating direction, andθp=360°/(number of poles). When a plurality of coils are connected in a star connection method,θb andθm are so set as to satisfy the relation 0.75≤(θs+θb)/θm≤0.95, whereθb is the angle by which a brush contacts a commutator segment in the rotating direction,θm is the angel for each pole in the rotating direction, andθs=360°/(number of coils).
