PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain antimicrobial effects over a long period without falling off an antimicrobial agent even when washed and prevent a touch feeling/color tone of a textile product from deteriorating by firmly applying the antimicrobial agent comprising a silver salt/a copper salt of an N-long-chain-acylamino acid to the textile product such as underwear or hosiery. SOLUTION: The antimicrobial binder for fibers contains the antimicrobial agent comprising (A) a polyalkylalkoxysiloxane, (B) a cyclic/straight-chain polyalkylsiloxane, (C) a cross-linking catalyst and and (D) the silver salt/copper salt of the N-long-chain-acylamino acid as essential components. The component (A) is cross-linked by actions of the component (C) to firmly apply the component (D) to the fibers. Test results for determining proper ranges of (A:B) and (A:C) in formulation ratios of each component are shown in the figure. Circles are combinations of a proper formulation ratio without deteriorating the touch feeling of the fibers. Proper ranges are determined by carrying out similar tests for color tone.
