<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer controller of a thermal printer, or the like, in which print speed can be increased furthermore. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet, an ink ribbon, a thermal head, and the like, can be carried or moved based on the rotation of a motor, moving distance of a stepping motor, e.g. among motors can be estimated every step, and carriage of the sheet or the moving distance of the ink ribbon can be known previously. Consequently, position of the sheet, the ink ribbon, the thermal head, and the like, can be predicted based on that estimation, the number of times of polling for confirming the position or processing can be decreased, and transfer processing of print data can be carried out more frequently resulting in a printer controller capable of high speed printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
