PURPOSE: An LCD element is provided to form bypass capacitors through a shorting bar and a dummy line formed at an interval of a gate insulated film and/or a protective film, and to accumulate remaining DC components through the bypass capacitors, thereby reducing damage to an LCD panel. CONSTITUTION: Plural common lines(CL1-CLm) apply common voltages to common electrodes. Plural gate lines(GL1-GLm) apply gate voltages to gate electrodes of TFTs. Plural data lines(DL1-DLn) apply data voltages to picture electrodes through drain electrodes of the TFTs. The first bypass capacitors(C1) are formed at ends of the data lines(DL1-DLn). The second bypass capacitors(C2) are formed at ends of the gate lines(GL1-GLm). The common lines(CL), the gate lines(GL), and the data lines(DL) are formed in a display portion(62). The first and second bypass capacitors(C1,C2) are formed in a non-display portion.
