摘要 PURPOSE: A progressive scan method of a display device by an adaptive edge dependent interpolation is provided to improve the quality of a picture by removing a radio frequency noise and preventing a coarse picture due to alias. CONSTITUTION: A deinterlacer receives pixel data forming field data(S210). The deinterlacer calculates a standard deviation and differences between pixel data according to predetermined directions(S220). The deinterlacer obtains the minimum out of absolute values of the differences(S230). The deinterlacer decides the direction corresponding to the minimum as an inclination direction(S240). The deinterlacer detects a first edge direction according to a first edge deciding condition(S250). The deinterlacer detects a final edge direction according to a second edge deciding condition(S260). The deinterlacer outputs an interpolation value achieving edge dependent interpolation or simple linear interpolation as data of center pixel to be interpolated(S270,S280).
