PURPOSE: A hydraulic torque tool is provided to directly measure the elongation of a bolt. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic torque tool comprises a hydraulic motor unit, a drive(3) operated by the motor unit and combined to a fixing member for fastening the fixing member, and an ultrasonic probe(12) mounted in the drive and contacting a part of the fixing member when the drive is combined with the fixing member to transmit a sound through a part of the fixing member and receiving a signal indicating the elongation of the fixing member. The elongation of a bolt(9) is compared to a reference value. If the bolt is elongated sufficiently, the rotation of the bolt is stopped.
