DEFROSTING DEVICE OF REFRIGERATOR AND DEFROSTING METHOD

PURPOSE: A defrosting device of a refrigerator and a defrosting method are provided to minimize a loss followed by defrosting by lengthening a defrosting cycle and shortening the defrosting time, and to improve the efficiency of a cooling cycle by reducing a pressure loss of air passing through the evaporator. CONSTITUTION: A defrosting device of a refrigerator comprises an evaporator installed to a cooling duct of the refrigerator, and a thermoelectric module attached to the evaporator, to transmit heat to the evaporator while being turned on and off in a predetermined cycle. A defrosting method of the refrigerator comprises steps of operating and stopping the heating body several times in a predetermined cycle till a pressure loss of air passing through the evaporator reaches a set value; stopping the operation of a compressor and a blower fan and executing defrosting by operating the heating body for predetermined time if the pressure loss of air passing through the evaporator reaches the set value; and stopping the operation of the heating body and operating the blower fan.
