PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an antifreezing agent having better rustproof effect and to provide the antifreezing agent. SOLUTION: The method for producing the antifreezing agent comprises a step for producing a raw material by nearly equally mixing sodium chloride, magnesium or calcium chloride in a prescribed amount with a citrate in a prescribed amount and a step for integrating the raw material and producing the antifreezing agent by passing the raw material through a space between a pair of rollers counterrotating to each other and crushing the raw material. When sodium chloride is used, the weight ratio of sodium chloride to citrate is (1:1) to (8:1) and when magnesium chloride is used, the weight ratio of citrate is 1 wt.% to 50 wt.% based on total amount and when calcium chloride is used, the weight ratio of citrate is 1 wt.% to 50 wt.% based on total amount.
