PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray computed tomography apparatus corresponding to a multislice for reducing the exposure of X-rays. SOLUTION: The X-ray computed tomography apparatus is provided with a gantry 100 which has an X-ray tube 101 for emitting X-rays to a subject, an X-ray detector 103 having a plurality of detection element rows for detecting X-rays transmitted through the subject and a collimator 108 of which the aperture is variable with respect to two directions, that is, a slice direction and a channel direction, an image processing part 113 for extracting the region of the target internal organ of the subject from the volume data related to the subject, a control part 100 which sets the collimator 108 to a second aperture on the basis of an almost columnar second scanning range set so as to restrict the region of the extracted target internal organ and also controls the gantry 100 to perform second scanning, and a re-constitution part 114 for re-constituting image data based on data collected by scanning.
