PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode holder which is applicable to the case of electrical discharge machining by using a conical electrode, facilitates a removal of machined chips generate at a machining gap between the conical electrode and a workpiece, prevents a clogging of the machining gap with the machined chips, to thereby improve the machining efficiency of the electrode. SOLUTION: The electrode holder 1 holds the electrode 3 having a conical surface 31 for machining a conical hole and is formed of a holding hole 11 for holding an outer surface of the electrode 3, and ejecting holes 12 formed on the periphery of the holding hole 11 for ejecting a machining fluid toward the machining gap 6 between the electrode 3 and the workpiece 5. When the electrode 3 is held in the holding hole 11, an ejecting direction of the machining fluid from each ejecting hole 12 is set to an axial center of the electrode 3. Provided that an angle which a generator of the conical surface 31 of the electrode 3 forms with an axis of the same is set toα, and that an angle which an axis of the ejecting hole 12 forms with the axis of the electrode 3 is set toβ, a relationship ofα≤βholds.
