PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device by which paper jamming hardly arises by suppressing the rise of the temperature of a peeling member. SOLUTION: The fixing device possesses a fixing member 61 having a heat source 60 and rotated and driven, a pressure member 62 rotated by being brought into press-contact with the fixing member 61 and the peeling member 70 provided close to the fixing member 61 to peel and guide a sheet-shaped recording medium passing through a pressure contact part N between the fixing member and the pressure member from the surface 61a of the fixing member, and an interval between the fixing member 61 and the peeling member 70 is made large (C2) at a position where heat generation distribution in the axial direction of the fixing member by the heat source is large and is made small (C1) at a position where the heat generation distribution is small. The center part 71a of the peeling member 70 is swollen in a circular-arc state toward an upstream side in the moving direction of the recording medium as compared with both end parts 71b.
