PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for plant cultivation designed to prevent the occurrence of a gap between a cultivation vessel and a medium and hold and maintain water needed for a plant from seeding to ending the plant cultivation. SOLUTION: The method for plant cultivation comprises the following practice: A cultivation chamber 8 is provided at the bottom with the medium 10 prepared by gelatinizing natural pulp with water, and the medium 10 is sown with seeds of white radish sprouts 11 as a sprout vegetable to cultivate the white radish sprouts 11 as the objective plant. In this method, the medium 10 is provided so that its surface represent a smooth horizontal plane, and contains and maintains water needed for the white radish sprouts 11 from seeding to ending their cultivation, e.g. for a week. Preferably, the medium 10 used is such one as to maintain water for a period between the time of seeding and the time of the white radish sprouts 11 being sold and consumed.
