PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom barrel of which the drive can be accurately controlled though it employs a simple and inexpensive mechanism. SOLUTION: The lens barrel 1 comprises a straight moving member 400 and a rotating member 410 in which the moving member 400 is inserted to be coupled thereto so as to freely relatively rotate and which integrally moves in an axial direction together with the moving member 400. The moving member 400 fixes a shutter unit 130 and a top lens unit 81 and is equipped with an output part 91 outputting an electrical signal. The rotating member 410 is equipped with a pattern part 92 having specified patterns 11b to 17b so that they are directly opposed to the output part 91. When the moving member 400 is driven, the rotating member 410 is rotated axially around the moving member 400, and the output part 91 accurately outputs a position signal interlocked with the pattern part 92 whose positional relation is determined directly. Then, the shutter unit 130 and the output part are integrally driven without changing their relative positions, so that the configuration of the base plate 140 is facilitated.
