PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify an incoming call from a third person and to appropriately respond to the incoming call during speech communication between two persons by one line of contact while connected to a plurality of lines of connection. SOLUTION: Telephone communication equipment 100 is connected to the plurality of lines of contact by a PSTN line 23 and an ADSL line 24 which are made to be an ADSL, connected to a subscriber line 22 and divided by a splitter 17. During speech communication using one line of contact, when an incoming call arrives at the other line of contact, an incoming call display tone is notified a user, and a ringing tone is transmitted to the caller of the incoming call. When the user presses down a catch button of an operation panel 14, the opposite party during the speech communication is held so that the user can respond to the caller. When the user presses down the catch button once again, holding and responding can be switched.
