PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mite-repelling mat capable of surely preventing mite from getting adhesive or parasitic to human body, and to provide a method for producing the mat. SOLUTION: The mite-repelling mat 10 is such that a mite repellent 22 is held in a mat body 20 of urethane foam with open cells 18, wherein the mite repellent 10 is held in the open cells 18 in a condition of being included in slow-releasing capsules 24. When the mite-repelling mat 10 is used by laying itself between a sheet and a bed mat, it is possible for mite not to approach a human body on a bed. Being held in the open cells 18, the mite repellent 22 seldom goes off the mat body 20, and being included in the slow-releasing capsules 24, the mite repellent 22 is slow in release, therefore this mite repellent 22 is relatively sustainable in efficacy for a long period. By ensuring mite such as Sacoptes scabiei considered to be one of the causes of dermatoses including scabies, or asthma, not to approach such patients as hospitalized ones lying on a bed all day long, it is possible for mite not to adhere or get parasitic to the human body.
