PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid processing agent for silver halide photography having such high-speed solubility that it does not pack by sedimentation immediately after putting in water, dissolves quickly and becomes a homogeneous processing solution, even in an automatic processing machine using an existing concentrate type processing agent, without requiring a cost-increasing dissolution accelerating unit, and to provide a processing method using the solid processing agent. SOLUTION: The solid processing agent for a silver halide photographic sensitive material comprises a group of mixed particles consisting of particles containing at least one acid and particles containing at least one alkali, wherein open cells are included in the mixed particles.
