<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently acquire a log of a consumables use amount of a printer having no real-time clock with high level of accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system having a large number of printers connected to a network is provided with a management server. The printer records a log of a use amount of toner correlatively to a lapsed time measured by an internal timer, and uploads the log to the server in a preset period. The printer acquires upload time from the server, and executes the later record with the time as a standard. By correcting the standard time of the log at uploading by use of the time acquired from the server, even the printer having no real-time clock can suppress increase of an error in time information to record the log with high level of accuracy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
