PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required until traveling is started, by separating and downloading only a part considered necessary at the beginning out of a large-capacity route search result. SOLUTION: By a route search request from an on-vehicle apparatus 100, a download center 200 performs recommended route calculation and guidance calculation, and transmits the data contents of recommended route information and guidance information to the on-vehicle apparatus 100. The on-vehicle apparatus 100 calculates and displays an estimated download time interval from the data capacity of the guidance information, and makes an occupant determine whether to choose separated download or not. If the separated download is requested by the occupant, the on-vehicle apparatus 100 directs the download center 200 to perform separated download. The download center 200 transmits guidance information ranging from a destination up to a first guidance intersection to the on-vehicle apparatus 100, and route guidance is started. The on-vehicle apparatus 100 download-receives the remaining guidance information by the unit of a guidance intersection in the background, performing route guidance processing.
