PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an exposure device capable of making small a step formed at an oblique contour part of a drawing pattern without increasing original image data. SOLUTION: At a place (area A) determined by a contour detection part to be a step, a part adjacent to pixels (areas, B, C, and D) where image data are present is interpolated with interpolating pixel data 68 of 1/4 pixel size generated by an interpolating pixel data generation part to make small a staircase-shaped step formed when the oblique contour part of image data is drawn, and then the drawing pattern becomes smooth. Consequently, the resolution of a host device side which transmits the original data need not be increased to make the step small. Therefore, there are not a problem of an increase of the original image data or an increase in image processing time for canceling expansion or contraction of a printed board 20 or transfer time of image data.
