PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a level meter capable of realizing dynamic visual effect equal to spectrum display at low cost. SOLUTION: This level meter is equipped with a plurality of display blocks having a plurality of display elements and displays an audio signal level, and displays the audio signal level on one of the display blocks in specified cycles. An extracted audio signal level is displayed cyclically on the display blocks. Further, display elements are arranged in array in each display blocks and the level meter displays the audio signal level as a bar graph. When display cycles of the audio signal level are properly selected, the level meter gives dynamic visual effect to a user by the after-image effect of the eye. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
