PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for driving a vibration motor corresponding to a melody of a mobile terminal are provided to control strength of a vibration motor corresponding to power of melody. CONSTITUTION: An MSM unit(30) serves as a central processing unit for processing a general operation of a terminal. A memory unit(31) stores general data of the terminal, duration rhythm and data related to driving of a vibration motor(35). A vibration motor driver(32) generates a certain voltage for driving a vibration motor(35). A waveform output unit(33) obtains 1/2 duration from duration fetched from the memory unit(31). A mixer(34) drives the vibration motor(35) only when an output of the vibration motor driver(32) and an output of the waveform output unit(33) coexist.
