A rotor assembly (1) for a self propelling pool cleaner including a housing (2) having a water inlet orifice (7) and a water outlet orifice (9), a rotor (3) within the housing (2) including a plurality of vanes (4) defining a plurality of spaces (11, 12) between adjacent vanes (4) each vane (4) having pressure sealing means (10) forming a pressure seal between adjacent spacers (11, 12) when said pressure sealing means (10) is in contact with an interna l wall of the housing (2) wherein a negative static water pressure applied at the outlet orifice (9) leads to a differential water pressure between two adjacent spaces (11, 12) causing rotation of the rotor (3).
