A device for converting fluctuating stream of living poultry into a uniform stream in a slaughter line comprises a controller to control number of birds transferred from an unloading station to a conveying station to a connecting station. The controller is linked to unloading, conveyer, tilting devices and buffer storage member. The device comprises several sensors in various stations to measure parameters relating to unloading, conveying and connecting such that the measured values are fed to the controller for adjusting the speed of the stream of poultry.
