PURPOSE: An apparatus for managing a phone book in a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) network is provided to store necessary information at a maximum, regardless of storage capacity. CONSTITUTION: In a VoIP phone, a CPU(210), controlling the operation of each component overall, processes key input from a keypad(212), an LAN connection operation for a VoIP service, voice data, etc. A memory part(220), connected with the CPU(210), is composed of a ROM(220a), a flash memory(220b), and a RAM(220c). The keypad(212), comprising numeric keys and various function keys, supplies key input, inputted by a user, to the CPU(210). A display part(216), composed of an LCD, displays various information according to the control of the CPU(210). A codec(242), connected with a handset(244), a microphone(248), and a speaker(249), converts an analog voice signal into a digital signal under the control of the CPU(210) or converts a digital signal into an analog signal. A DSP(246), connected between the codec(242) and the CPU(210), executes voice data processing, such as voice data compression. In this case, the DSP(246) executes voice processing in compliance with VoIP standards. |
