摘要 PURPOSE: A nanocomposite polyurethane rigid foam composition and a method for preparing the foam are provided to obtain a foam which shows excellent low temperature insulation and strength and can replace a CFC-based foam. CONSTITUTION: The nanocomposite polyurethane rigid foam composition comprises 100 parts by weight of polyol; 1-7 parts by weight of hydrophilic surface organized smectite-based nanoclay or Na-smectite-based nanoclay; isocyanate; an amine-based catalyst; a surfactant; a foaming agent; and water. Preferably the hydrophilic surface organized smectite-based nanoclay is treated with an organic modifier represented by the formula 1, wherein TH is hydrogenated tallow. The method comprises the steps of mixing the polyol and the nanoclay to prepare a polyol/nanoclay solution mixture; mixing the polyol/nanoclay solution mixture with isocyanate, an amine-based catalyst, a surfactant and water; and foaming the obtained mixture.
