The present invention relates to a method for galvanizing a workpiece comprising steel, comprising steps for: bringing the workpiece into contact with liquid zinc with a temperature in a first temperature range of 420-800 degrees Celsius in order to obtain a number of alloy layers on the steel surface, characterized by heating the workpiece for a time period of 1 second to 24 hours at a temperature in a second temperature range of 420-800 degrees Celsius in order to obtain new layer compositions with a desired composition obtained by the treatment.
