CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE HAVING MAGNETIC FIELD SCREEN TOOL AROUND MOLD

PURPOSE: A continuous casting machine having magnetic field screen tool around mold is provided to improve surface and inner qualities of billet by installing the magnetic field screen tool for stabilizing the surface of molten metal and increasing stirring force at the circumference of the mold without installation of a separate accessory facility. CONSTITUTION: In a continuous casting machine for manufacturing a metal billet by continuously cooling the molten metal as passing molten metal through a mold(12), the continuous casting machine comprises an electromagnetic stirrer(20) in which a plural magnetic cores(21) are radially arranged with the electromagnetic stirrer being spaced apart from the circumference of the mold in a certain distance, and which forms a magnetic field in the mold by impressing a power supply to coils(23) wound around the respective magnetic cores; and a magnetic field screen tool(30) formed between the mold and the electromagnetic stirrer in such a way that the magnetic field screen tool surrounds the mold with being positioned from the magnetic cores to a side of the surface of molten metal in the mold, wherein the magnetic field screen tool is formed in a single body to form a closed circuit for enveloping the circumference of the mold, and wherein the magnetic field screen tool is formed in such a way that the magnetic field screen tool surrounds the circumference of the mold by connecting separated components(32,34,36,38) corresponding to respective sides of the mold to each other.
