METHOD FOR MONITORING WINDING SHORT CIRCUIT OF ROTOR OF SYNCHRONOUS GENERATOR

PURPOSE: A method for monitoring winding short circuit of the rotator of a synchronous generator is provided to effectively reduce the installation damage due to the failure of the generator by obtaining accurate information for the rotator status. CONSTITUTION: A method for monitoring the rotator winding short of a synchronous generator includes a search coil(10), an analog-to-digital(A/D) converter(20) and a data processor(30). After the change rate of the magnetic flux is measured in the air gap of the generator, the search coil(10) outputs the size as a linear voltage. The A/D converter(20) converts the analog characteristic value of the search coil(10) outputted as an intensity of voltage to the data processor(30). And, the data processor(30) performs the sampling for the data having at least two data as a data having a frequency larger than 100 KHz by controlling the output of the A/D converter(20). The data processor(30) stores the sampled data as one file and finds the peak value when the slot of the rotator passes through. The data processor(30) extracts the information for the degree of the short of the rotator winding by comparing the maximum value of the individual slots.
