FIELD: electrical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: technical objective of proposed invention lies in decreased danger of contamination and environmental pollution with mercury vapors and in enhanced quality of recovery of mercury from mercury-vapor lamps which are achieved as puncture of lamps and collection of mercury in special vessel are conducted after lamp cooling in liquid nitrogen to temperature lying beneath mercury crystallization in the course of 1-3 min. ^ EFFECT: decreased danger of contamination and environmental pollution with mercury vapors.
