PURPOSE: A power supply system for a vehicle is provided to prevent the unexpected operation of a warning circuit when an EHC(Electrically Heated Catalytic) system is used and to avoid the mal-functioning of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A power supply system for a vehicle comprises a generator(3) driven by an internal combustion engine, a controller(8) for controlling the generator, a battery(4) connected parallel with the generator to charge the power of the generator, a heater installed in an EHC system(43) and heated by the output of the generator, a temperature detecting unit(4) for detecting the temperature of the heater, and switches(42) placed between the generator and the heater and the generator and the battery.
